Wood Platform Bed Plans 2-inch wide birch wood slats run horizontally from the sides to the middle support beam. The bed holds up to 600 pound, and stands steady on seven steel legs: four at the corners, two on the sides and one in the center. More affordable than a box spring, the bed frame additionally provides storage space with 13 inches of space under the bed. The bed frame requires adult home assembly;

A member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, Wood Platform Bed Plans Handy Living designed the bed frame with entirely recyclable parts and ships the bed frame parts in one box to eliminate excess packaging. King- and queen- sized models of the bed frame are also available. The full-sized bed frame measures 76 inches long by 54 inches wide by 13 inches high.
